Julie Rogers:

No one ever said life is easy, but I believe by giving yourself permission, you will find you have more control over your life than you realize. I'm Julie. I hope you will join me by taking responsibility for yourself, by only controlling the things you can and letting go of the things that you can't. By doing this, you will have discovered the secret to having happy, healthy and more fulfilling relationships. This is Nearest and Dearest Podcast. I'm Julie Rogers and you are listening to Season 3, Episode 9, Why Eloise Is A Swiftie, in her own words.

Eloise:

Hi! I'm Eloise. I'm 11 years old and I'm Grandma Julie's granddaughter! If you are a Swiftie or you want to become one, this is the perfect podcast episode for you! Also, I really hope Taylor Swift hears this. Taylor Swift's music helps me get in a good mood when I'm not having such a good day. Her songs are divided into albums, which can represent which mood I feel or what mood I would like to feel. For example, Evermore is more of a soft, warm album, so if I want to feel in a calmer mood, that's a really good album for that. So I love how she makes songs that can change our moods.

Eloise:

Taylor Swift is so inspirational! She started from singing at home, to the national anthem, at sports events, to signing her first record deal at the age of 15! And now she's an international singer at 34 years old. She's an amazing person to look up to because all that she has accomplished at such a young age. She makes me feel like I can do anything I set my mind to. Taylor Swift is really kind and caring. She donated $10,000 to a 12-year-old fan to help her cover her medical bills. This shows just how much she cares about her fans. She has inspired me to write songs and I have the courage to start singing and acting in drama because she was never afraid to show who she was. That's why I am a true Taylor Swiftie. I recently joined the summer drama class in my local middle school. The play is High School Musical which includes a lot of singing and dancing. I'm excited to learn more about acting and how to sing really good, because Taylor Swift was also a young girl when she started singing. I will be starting drama class next week and the play will be performed in the beginning of August.

Eloise:

Because I'm such a big Swiftie, I don't only listen to her on Apple Music. I recently got a record player for Christmas and now I have two of her albums on vinyl. The album 1989, which was the year she was born, and the album Lover. Here's some fun facts. Her first album in 2006 was self-titled and her first Billboard Hot 100 chart song was Tim McGraw, which peaked at number 40 and number 6 on Hot Country Songs, and it went double platinum. It charted at number 10 on Canada Country. She was such a hit that she placed in top 40 and top 10 in two countries, at only 15 years old. Taylor grew up in Wyomissing Pennsylvania with her parents and younger brother. She spent 14 years there before her and her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue her country singing career. Taylor Swift is one of my role models. I admire her character and her music. If you're looking for a role model that you can respect and follow, you should listen to Taylor's music and you, too, can be a Swiftie.
